Onnit is set to host a launch party and rites of passage testing at their new Onnit Academy Proving Grounds this Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 9 am to 3 pm. Individuals and teams will compete to win Onnit supplements and products. Participants will perform eight of the “Rites of Passage,” Onnit Academy’s unique assessment protocol utilizing Onnit’s unconventional training tools like Primal Bells, Kettlebells, Steel Maces, Steel Clubs, Sandbags, Battle Ropes and barbells.
The Onnit Academy Proving Grounds is a new training facility designed to test both people and equipment in a raw environment. It’s a hardcore gym that contains the essentials to get you in shape and build functional strength. In addition to Onnit’s unconventional tools, the Proving Grounds also offers atlas stones, yokes, farmer walk handles, tractor tires, and the Husafell Stone. The facility also features a pull up rig and the hanging branch rig for high intensity, functional training.
The Proving Grounds was specifically designed to test the training methodologies and equipment used by Onnit Academy. This primarily outdoor facility is rough and gritty, and workouts are designed to put both equipment and gym goers through their paces. There is no air conditioning, so participants should be prepared to sweat during hardcore, high intensity workouts, strongman sessions, functional proficiency training, and outdoor conditioning.
The objective of Onnit Academy is to teach men and women of all ages and abilities the techniques and methodologies to overcome any physical challenge. Whether it is to dominate a competitive sport, be ready for the trials that life may bring, or simply maintain a level of sustainable, injury free fitness, Onnit Academy is as versatile and adaptable as the unconventional methods themselves. Onnit Academy understands that for peak performance, all aspects of a person need to be optimized so comprehension of the fundamentals of nutrition and mental preparation will also be encouraged.
Proving Grounds Trainers have been trained in the Onnit Academy Certification program to push participants, while also safely guiding them through the use of innovative fitness tools. While building strength, endurance, speed, and agility, participants will also enhance their ability to use the unique implements offered through Onnit.
The Onnit Academy Proving Grounds is a donation-based gym and participants are encouraged to pay what you think the trainers deserve. While there is a recommended $7 per class rate, it’s up to the patrons to support the facility and the training provided.
