Onnit Labs, nutritional supplement and unconventional fitness equipment manufacturer announces the acquisition of My Mad Methods Magazine and MyMadMethods.com, the premier source of unconventional fitness information.
Onnit Labs has acquired My Mad Methods Magazine, creating one of the most comprehensive unconventional fitness resources in existence. The merger will make alternative fitness products and information available all in one place.
“My Mad Methods and its founder Mark de Grasse are a wealth of information and resources in the world of unconventional training. Coupled with our best in class equipment offerings and immense reach of athletes and coaches we intend to become the premier player in the unconventional fitness space,” commented Aubrey Marcus, founder of Onnit.
After loosely partnering in late 2013, the two companies decided that a more integrated solution would best benefit customers and readers. The merger promises to enhance the unique offerings of each brand, allowing greater proliferation and depth.
“Onnit has created an extremely unique product offering in supplementation, nutrition, and fitness equipment which mirrors the training philosophy that My Mad Methods Magazine promotes,” stated Mark de Grasse, editor of My Mad Methods Magazine. “We are extremely excited to join the Onnit team and make ‘optimized’ health available to a much greater audience.”
Mark de Grasse will now be working as part of Onnit’s executive team with the title of Chief Fitness Officer. He will be continuing to manage My Mad Methods Magazine while also contributing to the development of Onnit’s education programs and fitness equipment development. All current DVD titles offered by My Mad Methods will continue to be sold via the Onnit store unless otherwise specified.
For those unfamiliar with Onnit, its mission is to inspire peak performance through a combination of unique products and actionable information. Combining bleeding-edge science, earth-grown nutrients, and time-tested strategies from top athletes and medical professionals, the company is dedicated to providing customers with supplements, foods, and fitness equipment aimed at helping people achieve a new level of well-being they call Total Human Optimization.
My Mad Methods Magazine has been the primary resource for unconventional training articles, workouts, and exercises since August 2010. Since then, the magazine has been distributed to thousands of people in over 20 countries. The associated website (https://www.MyMadMethods.com) is viewed by over 40,000 people each month. Mark de Grasse coined the term “unconventional training” in order to describe a group of fitness methodologies that use unusual implements like kettlebells, sandbags, clubs, macebells, and odd objects to provide optimum results using an approach based in progression and systemization.
The merger officially occurred on February 17, 2014. While the integration may include changes to both organizations, the companies are planning a seamless transition that will not impact customer service. A multitude of enhancements are also planned for My Mad Methods Magazine that will greatly expand the information provided on the website and published issues.
