Core, Agility & Strength Training In One
Battle Rings are a new type of suspension workout product that combines the practicality of gymnastic rings with the functional benefits of battle ropes.
Gymnastic rings, also known as gym rings, have been used since the 19th century and were originally made popular though male gymnastic competition. They now stand as a staple in functional training programs as they encourage full body control, strength, and stability. Popular exercises include muscle ups, pull ups, levers, and dips.
Battle Ropes have rapidly gained in popularity in recent years as combat athletes like MMA fighters and football players have begun using them for high intensity training. The thickness of the ropes combined with non-stop moving undulation drills require full body stamina as well as incredible grip and forearm strength.
Battle Ring training uses gravity and your bodyweight to give you hundreds of exercises that can enhance your strength, conditioning, and agility like no other tool available. Perform hundreds of calisthenic-based movements in a variety of ways to increase your ability to move in new, dynamic ways.
While you can perform typical suspension exercises similar to gym rings, the unique features of this training tool also allow for hanging rope drills and pulling exercises that haven’t been available before now.
Onnit’s Battle Rings take advantage of the grip and forearm strength necessary for Battle Rope training and combines that benefit with the hundreds of drills available with gym rings. Rather than simply working full body strength and control, Battle Rings provide users with the grip and forearm development needed for both competition and daily life.
Battle Rings also have multiple configurations that allow users to perform even more exercised than typical gym rings. By securing one end of the Battle Rings to a pull up bar or tree branch, users can turn Battle Rings into a 10 foot tall climbing rope, ideal for people getting ready for obstacle course races or bootcamp.
A kettlebell can also be secured to one end of the Battle Rings and thrown over a pull up bar for use in drills that are usually reserved for cable/pulley systems; these exercises include tricep extensions, woodchoppers, and new functional drills that can help people develop throwing power. In the same configuration, users can also perform ground pulling drills.
Battle Rings can also be adjusted so that one side is lower than the other, allowing for ground drills like Bulgarian split squats, 1-legged burpees, and 1-leg atomic push ups.
Onnit’s Battle Rings are also a more affordable option than regular suspension systems. Popular suspension systems can go for $100 to $250. At less than $40.00, Battle Rings are even cheaper than gym rings themselves.
