If you’re looking to showcase the awesomeness that is Unconventional Training, there may be no better way than through an epic workout pic.
Epic: heroic; majestic; impressively great
Art: the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance
Those two definitions sum up why we enjoy epic workout pics so much; each picture is a singular representation of impressive material consisting of more-than-ordinary significance.
Even so, I think the best thing about them goes beyond a simple example of great feats of strength, extraordinary effort, or unusual and unique fitness methods and equipment; each picture is a representation of the physical potential that everyone contains within themselves if they are willing to do the work to achieve greatness.
The following are my personal favorites from an epic workout pic contest we had in the past. You can see all of the pics by Clicking Here.
Community
This photo of Andralyn Zayn really highlights what makes the unconventional fitness community great: learning new things and perfecting movements. More than just a neat picture of a handstand, it really shows how intently the people watching her want to learn.
Action & Inspiration
Jim Romig (and the whole Wolf Pack crew for that matter) is always taking awesome pictures of his unconventional training movements. This picture is an excellent example of his desire to inspire through both action and scenery. It makes me wish I had more dilapidated buildings in my area to train in.
Fun
While we usually showcase the gritty reality of training for occupations, the real side effect of functional training is the ability to do fun things. Mark Smith showcases that with this picture taken outdoors. Unconventional training does more than just keep you healthy and strong, it allows you to do things with your environment that you may not have thought possible.
